The area: Strategic Business, Online Sales and Operations
The Strategic Business group helps the Online Sales and Operations (OSO) team in India serve Google's worldwide user base for products such as AdSense, Gmail, YouTube, Checkout, Google Earth and Orkut. These fast-paced sales and support teams quickly identify and resolve customer concerns and contribute to the growth of our programs by providing the best possible service via e-mail or chat. We are responsible for managing advertisers, publishers or seller accounts, or developing scalable support solutions for rapid-growth consumer products. This means that employees in Strategic Business need to be proactive, motivated, organized, responsible and able to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The role: Compliance Manager, Checkout
As Compliance Manager, Checkout, you will lead a large team of OSO employees focused on internal and external compliance. Internal compliance includes enforcing the Google Checkout Content Policy and Terms of Service. External compliance deals with ensuring that regulatory requirements are met within the US, UK and European communities in the areas of verification, money laundering and handling complaints.
Responsibilities
· Manage a highly competent and large team to ensure that they are achieving their assigned goals
· Work cross-functionally to build and grow the roadmap for the Compliance function in Google Checkout
· Work with the Engineering teams to improve and automate current processes
· Work with internal Legal and Compliance teams to ensure that our processes are compliant with the internal and external policies and regulatory norms
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree preferred with a strong academic record. (Master’s is a plus)
· Ability to read and comprehend complex legal documents and translate into efficient operational procedures
· Strong analytical and process-related skills
· Distinct ability to pay attention to detail
· Significant people-management experience and the ability to build and lead teams
· Experience in compliance-related financial services is preferred
CA or MBA Finance with 7-8 years experience
