The area: Strategic Business, Online Sales and Operations
The Strategic Business group helps the Online Sales and Operations (OSO) team in India serve Google's worldwide user base for products such as AdSense, Gmail, YouTube, Checkout, Google Earth and Orkut. These fast-paced sales and support teams quickly identify and resolve customer concerns and contribute to the growth of our programs by providing the best possible service via e-mail or chat. We are responsible for managing advertisers, publishers or seller accounts, or developing scalable support solutions for rapid-growth consumer products. This means that employees in Strategic Business need to be proactive, motivated, organised, responsible and able to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The role: Business Manager, Consumer Operations
As a Business Unit Manager, you will lead a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to rapidly increasing the user base of consumer products such as YouTube and Orkut. You will also work closely with the global management teams to ensure that customer satisfaction and other support metrics defined for the product are met. This will require you to focus on creating innovative support models that efficiently cater to the needs of the large customer base. You will also work with global stakeholders to create money-making strategies for the products. This role demands thought leadership and an ability to drive innovation while achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
· Innovate on the tools and processes to ensure a lean and cost-effective support model for consumer products
· Work with users in targeted markets and deal with highly sensitive media/PR issues
· Work with global counterparts to implement and test different approaches to monetisation
· Improve team productivity through product/process enhancements
· Drive the creation and support of one-to-many resources such as help centers and user-to-user forums
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree preferred with a strong academic record. (Master’s is a plus)
· Good understanding and awareness of the cultural, educational and professional environments in India
· High degree of entrepreneurial skills with an ability to coordinate, interact and build relationships with multiple stakeholders
· Strong analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills
· Ability to motivate and drive a high-performing team to improve the overall user experience
